But wait, top marketers what should I write about? There are many people out there who will tell you that you should write about your passion. After all, if you write about things that you feel strongly about, you will keep it up and never get tired. Unfortunately, that's not great advice for everyone. In order to make money, you need to write about a commercially viable topic. Let's take some examples to illustrate my point.

You don't have to have a product of your own: There are millions of products you can promote online - proven products already developed by others. As an affiliate, you simply promote them and get a percentage of each sale. This can range anywhere from a low of around 10 percent, on up to a normal high of around 75 percent. Most affiliate programs pay out in the 25-50 percent range.

Change the next field (the headline). Most people put the name of their business in this field. But your business name often doesn't tell people exactly what you do or what you are expert in. And, you now already have your business name above, in the "last name" field. Since LinkedIn is keyword searchable (and is indexed by Google) this is a great place to use your keywords. For example, I used the terms SoloPreneur Marketing Stategist, Mindset Shift Expert, Neuromarketing, Coach, Speaker, internet marketing Expert.

You can find people to refer all over the internet. They are at forums, your website, YouTube, digg, MySpace, face book, emails, anywhere you can think of. Who doesn't want to make money? Just make sure when you get them they have some idea of what to do, so they will stay active and make you some nice money. You could even teach them how to get referrals in this way and make money off their referrals since most of these sites have multi-level referral systems. This is one of many ways you can really make money online.
