A Different Way To Talk About Sex?

Some are 1urging American parents to take a different way to discuss sex with teens, in line with the New York Times. "Rachel Phelps (who works at Planned Parenthood in the United States) concludes that while American parents, advertisers and public-service announcements try and scare teens, those involved with Europe are point in fact and humorous." The European approach is usually to be open about sex, discuss having it with the proper time, and promote the application of condoms in a very humorous way. European parents aren't worried about preventing their teens from having sex; their problem is which they get ready when they do. Ninety percent of Dutch parents allow their children to own romantic sleepovers provided the little one are at least sixteen and inside a committed, loving relationship.
The benefits of such an approach are predictably hyped: higher utilization of birth control, lower pregnancy rates, reducing STD rates. Of course, if teen sex is predicted and using birth control is viewed as section of that equation, then this statistics are not surprising.
There is one other statistic of note: the percentage of those teens who wished that they waited longer to possess sex is 63% and 69% of American girls and boys respectively in comparison with only 5% and 12% of boys and girls inside the Netherlands. These figures offer further reason to look at the European approach within the minds of these arguing for this; American attitudes toward sex are section of the problem and creating bad experiences for American teens.
But is sentiment really true? It's certainly regrettable that pregnancy and STD rates are higher among American teens. But can it be regrettable they are bad about not waiting to get sex? When we do stuff that are wrong we need to feel bad. European teens don't feel sick about making love as the culture no more views it as being sinful. American teens have pangs of conscience as a result of at least two things. First, while a biblical worldview is fast eroding in America, there's a hold-over for several regarding pornofilme attitudes about sex. Second, there are still those involved with America who teach that premarital sex is wrong and thereby possess some impact on American sexual attitudes.
One's conscience is just like the teaching it receives. When persons reject God's way, they're consciences become seared and God offers them up to gross immorality (1 Tim. 4:2; Rom. 1:24f).
